Top 50 Shopify Beauty Brands, May 2026

Recon · beautyshopifydtctraffic

If you rank Shopify beauty brands by real Chrome user traffic in May 2026, dot & key and Pilgrim sit at the top of the category. So do Sanfe, Dr Sheth’s, Aqualogica, and The Deconstruct. Most of the legacy Western names you’d expect to see are further down, or off the list entirely.

This is the first monthly snapshot from Recon — our index of 600,000+ verified Shopify stores. The full top 50 Shopify beauty brands is below, ranked by Recon Traffic Score, with the country each brand operates from and a qualitative signal breakdown.

The top 5 Shopify beauty brands by real traffic

  • Ghar Soaps: Indian handmade soap and personal-care brand. Highest composite traffic score in the category for May.
  • The Body Shop: Global legacy beauty brand. Strong on SEO authority but weak on actual current consumer traffic.
  • Sanfe: Indian women’s wellness and intimate-care DTC brand.
  • Dollar Shave Club: US men’s grooming. Like Body Shop, strong on legacy SEO but lower on real traffic.
  • Pilgrim: Premium Indian beauty and skincare brand. Raised over $50M.

Three of the top five are Indian DTC brands. The two Western names in the top five (Body Shop, Dollar Shave Club) are there primarily because of long-accumulated backlink authority, not because real shoppers are loading their sites more than the Indian DTC leaders. By Chrome user traffic alone, dot & key, Pilgrim, Sanfe, and Aqualogica all rank above Body Shop.

What this means for Shopify beauty merchants

If you run a Shopify beauty store and you’re benchmarking against The Body Shop or other legacy Western names in your strategy decks, you’re benchmarking against brands whose real web traffic puts them well below the Indian DTC leaders. SEO tools still rank legacy brands high because they have decades of backlinks. But real shoppers are loading dot & key and Pilgrim instead.

Three things this changes:

  • Your competitive landscape probably looks different from what your tools show. The “top beauty brands on Shopify” depends on what you measure. Real traffic and SEO authority tell different stories in 2026.
  • The growth in Shopify beauty isn’t where the legacy lists suggest. The Indian DTC market is large, growing fast, and underrepresented in Western trade press.
  • What works for these brands might work for you. Most of them run a similar app stack — observable from their storefronts.

Why Indian DTC beauty brands are leading on Shopify

Three reasons the Indian DTC cohort is dominating Shopify beauty traffic:

  1. A massive domestic market. India’s middle class is larger than the population of the United States. DTC penetration in beauty is climbing fast off a low base.
  2. Shopify has become a standard platform for scaling Indian DTC beauty. The brands at the top of this list are well-funded, mature operations — not dropshipping experiments.
  3. Western beauty press hasn’t caught up. Modern Retail, Glossy, and Beauty Independent rarely cover the Indian DTC scene, which means investors and competitors react slowly.

This isn’t a one-month spike. The Indian DTC beauty market on Shopify has been growing for two years. May 2026 is just the first time we’ve published the ranking publicly.

What app stack do top Shopify beauty brands run?

Based on the top 50 Shopify beauty stores:

  • Email marketing: Klaviyo dominates at around 30% installed. Omnisend is the most common runner-up.
  • Product reviews: Judge.me leads by a wide margin (around 58% of the top 50). Yotpo and Loox come next.
  • Buy now, pay later: Klarna and Afterpay split most of the market. Razorpay handles installments for many Indian brands.
  • Page builders: PageFly and GemPages are common for landing pages and product pages.
  • Customer support: Gorgias for higher-volume stores.

The fastest-growing Shopify beauty brands to watch

A few brands worth tracking next month:

  • The Deconstruct: Newer Indian skincare brand, ranks high on real traffic.
  • Highfy: Pakistani DTC beauty brand. Real-traffic signal is strong; US trade press hasn’t covered yet.
  • Mars Cosmetics: Mass-market Indian color cosmetics, mid-list with room to climb.

We’ll track these in next month’s snapshot.

How we ranked the top Shopify beauty stores

Plain version: we measure how many real people are actually loading each store’s website using Chrome, then cross-check that against two other independent ranking sources. The combined score is what we call Recon Traffic Score. The table above is sorted by it.

The methodology is reproducible. Component-level traffic data per store, plus app-stack composition and monthly history, is available via data.recon.bot for agencies, vendors, and analysts who need to cite specific figures.

Frequently asked questions

Is this US-only or global? Global. We index 600,000+ verified Shopify stores worldwide. Most ranking tools are Western-centric, which is why they miss the Indian DTC concentration in beauty.

How is Recon different from BuiltWith or Storeleads? Both of those measure tech stack via web crawl. We do too — but we also rank stores by real consumer traffic, which is the layer that determines who’s actually winning right now, not just who’s installed what.

How often does this update? Monthly. Next snapshot ships June 9 (apparel vertical), followed by food, home, jewelry, and tech in the months after.

Can I see where my own Shopify store sits? Yes. Scan your store at recon.bot/audit. Free, no signup. You’ll see your rank, your peer cohort, and which apps your peers run that you don’t.

Is the underlying ranking data available? Yes — full component-level data per store, monthly history, and bulk exports are available through data.recon.bot.

For agencies, vendors, and analysts: The full ranking with raw traffic data, app-stack composition, and monthly history is available via data.recon.bot.
