If you rank Shopify apparel brands by real Chrome user traffic in May 2026, Fashion Nova sits at the top of the recognizable cohort, with three other brands tied above it on real-user signal: Glitch Productions (an animation studio’s merch store), Beechtree (Pakistan), and ETHNC (US). Aloyoga, Everlane, Skims, David’s Bridal, Toms, Aldo, and Eddie Bauer all appear further down.
This is our monthly Recon snapshot ranking the 50 highest-traffic Shopify apparel storefronts. Apparel is the largest vertical in our index — 5,458 classified stores in May 2026 — so the top 50 represents roughly the top 1% by composite traffic. The full list is below.
The top 5 Shopify apparel brands by real traffic
- Glitch Productions: Australian animation studio (Smiling Friends, Murder Drones, Amazing Digital Circus). The merch store ranks #1 by composite traffic. Fan-driven, not traditional apparel — but it’s selling clothing on Shopify and the traffic is real.
- Fashion Nova: US fast-fashion, women’s. The only brand in the top 50 with Strong on both real traffic AND SEO authority. Genuinely large.
- Beechtree: Pakistani women’s apparel chain. Strong real-user signal indicates significant domestic consumer traffic.
- ETHNC: US contemporary fashion brand. Strong real-user signal.
- Babylist: Baby and maternity. Combination registry + apparel retailer.
Two patterns jump out from the top 10. First, activewear is the most-represented subcategory in the top 50 (Aloyoga, Halara, Skims, Wearfigs, plus Comfrt). Second, Pakistani apparel brands punch well above their press visibility: Beechtree at #3, Zellbury at #14, Chase Value at #40, Asim Jofa at #36, Clive Shoes at #48 — five brands in the top 50 of global Shopify apparel.
What this means for Shopify apparel merchants
If you sell apparel on Shopify, your real competition isn’t where most ranking tools tell you it is.
- Activewear is consolidating real-user attention. Aloyoga, Halara (three regional storefronts in the top 50), Skims, Wearfigs, Comfrt — most of them on real-user-strong signal. If you sell activewear, this is your peer group, not just “fashion.”
- South Asian apparel is a real cohort: six brands across India and Pakistan in the top 50. Most are operating well below Western press radar.
- Legacy US brands are split. Brands like Everlane, Toms, David’s Bridal, Aldo, and Forever 21 sit in the top 50 on composite score, but their real Chrome traffic is weaker than their SEO authority suggests. These names get cited as “top Shopify brands” in trade press largely because of backlink history.

Why activewear is winning Shopify apparel
Five of the top 50 Shopify apparel storefronts are activewear-specific. The pattern reflects two structural shifts:
- Activewear has crossed over into general daily-wear. Skims, Aloyoga, Halara, Comfrt aren’t competing only with Lululemon — they’re competing with Zara and Forever 21 on the same closets.
- DTC margin math works better at activewear price points. $60–120 leggings + Klaviyo email + Klarna BNPL is a defensible unit economic model. $30 fast-fashion isn’t.
- The international scaling pattern works. Halara runs three top-50 storefronts across the US, Germany, and UK with localized domains — the same playbook Shein uses but on Shopify.
This isn’t a one-month spike. Activewear has been climbing Shopify apparel rankings for 12+ months.
What app stack do top Shopify apparel brands run?
Based on the top 50 Shopify apparel stores:
- Email marketing: Klaviyo at around 34% — the highest concentration of any single email tool we see across verticals.
- Buy now, pay later: Klarna (20%) and Afterpay (14%) split most of the market. Shop Pay Installments shows up on the larger US brands.
- Reviews: Judge.me at only 10% in apparel (vs. 58% in beauty) — apparel skews toward Yotpo, Loox, and Stamped instead.
- Ad pixels: Meta Pixel on 20% of the top 50, Pinterest tag on 8%, Twitter pixel on 6%. The ad-stack is wider here than in beauty.
- Page builders: PageFly is less common in apparel than in beauty; most top apparel brands run native Shopify themes (Dawn, Refresh, Empire).
Pakistani Shopify apparel brands — a cohort worth watching
Five Pakistani apparel brands appear in the global Shopify top 50:
- Beechtree: Women’s traditional and modern apparel chain.
- Zellbury: Women’s and men’s lifestyle apparel.
- Asim Jofa: Designer Pakistani fashion.
- Chase Value: Affordable women’s apparel.
- Clive Shoes: Pakistani footwear.
These brands are mostly invisible in Western trade press but operating at the same global Shopify traffic tier as Aldo, Steve Madden, and Eddie Bauer. The Pakistani DTC apparel market is real and growing.

How we ranked the top Shopify apparel stores
Plain version: we measure how many real people are actually loading each store’s website using Chrome, then cross-check that against two other independent ranking sources. The combined score is Recon Traffic Score. The table above is sorted by it.
The methodology is reproducible. Component-level data per store, plus app-stack composition and monthly history, is available via data.recon.bot.
Frequently asked questions
Why is Glitch Productions ranked #1? It’s a real Shopify storefront selling apparel. The brand owns an animation studio (Smiling Friends, Amazing Digital Circus) with a large fan base, so the merch store gets significant real consumer traffic. The Recon Traffic Score measures actual Chrome users loading the site — fan-driven merch counts.
Where are Lululemon and Nike? Lululemon and Nike use custom non-Shopify infrastructure for their primary sites. Recon only indexes verified Shopify storefronts. Some of their regional or subsidiary sites do run on Shopify and may appear in extended rankings.
Why aren’t more European apparel brands in the top 50? European DTC apparel is more fragmented across regional storefronts, and European brands often appear lower individually because their traffic is distributed across multiple country-specific domains. Boden (UK) and Flying Tiger (EU) are the main exceptions.
How is Recon different from BuiltWith or Storeleads? Both of those measure tech stack via web crawl. We do too — but we also rank stores by real consumer traffic, which is the layer that determines who’s actually winning right now.
How often does this update? Monthly. Next snapshot ships July 7 (food vertical).
